Investors’ sell-offs in ZENITHBANK (-2.52%), STERLIMGNG (2.32%), FIDELITYBK (-1.96%), NB (-1.69%), UBA (-0.89%) and twenty-three (23) others outweighed gains in FBN (+5.02%), GTCO (+0.33%), ACCESSCORP (+0.26%) and seventeen (17) to dragged the market down, as the ASI year-to-date (YTD) yield dropped to +33.76 %.
UCAP led the top 5 most traded equities with (26.64)mn shares traded in 625 deals valued at N737.26mn. LINKASSURE followed with (23.91)mn, AIICO (14.23)mn, CWG (11.45)mn, and UNIVINSURE with (11.12)mn units of shares, which made up 31.79% of the total volume and 23.47% of the total value of traded transactions for the session. UCAP (625) and FIDELITYBK (593) led one hundred and twenty-one (121) others on the deals table.
The total volume traded today decreased by (-46.11%) to end the day with 274.68mn shares valued at N3.71bn traded in 10,115 deals compared to 509.71mn shares valued at N9.89bn traded in 7,945 deals. The Market Index closed at 100,020.83 points compared to 100,057.49 points for Friday 28/06/2024. signifying a decrease of (-0.04%), while market capitalisation lost N20.74bn to close at N56.58tn against N56.60tn, and also signifying a decrease of (-0.04%) for the same period on the equities market.
