The Nigerian domestic bourse opened trading week bullishly with a +2.48% rise. The NgX-All share Index gained to settle at 63,603.69 points, as investor’s interests in DANGCEM (+10.00%), FBNH (+9.85%), UBA (+4.93%), MTNN (1.82%), ACCESSCORP (0.80%) and sixty-six (66) others ensured the market remained the green zone. The ASI year-to-date (YTD) yield gained to settle at +26.05%.
FBNH led the top 5 most traded equities with (198.22)mn shares traded, with UNIVINSUR following with (184.66)mn, STERLNGNG (161.68)mn, TRANSCORP (156.42)mn, and AIICO with (98.32)mn units of shares, that made up 43.46% of total volume and 27.12% of the total value of traded transactions for the session. UBA (912) and ACCESSCORP (716) led one hundred and twenty-six (126) others on the deals table.
The total volume traded today increased by (+49.80%) to end the day with 1.84bn shares valued at N22.03bn traded in 14,584 deals compared to 1.23bn shares valued at N13.85bn traded in 10,393 deals, Market Index closed at 64,603.69 points compared to 63,040.41 points for Friday 07/07/2023 signifying an increase of (+2.78%). Market Capitalization gained N851.22bn to close at N35.18tn against N34,.33tn, also signifying an increase of (+2.48%) for the same period on the equities market.
Analysis of trading activities shows that one hundred and twenty-eight (128) equities were traded on, seventy-one (71) equities appreciated and nineteen (19) equities depreciated in price, while thirty-eight (38) equities remained unchanged. NEIMETH (+10.00%), MRS (+10.00%), JAIZ (+10.00%), DAARCOMM (+10.00%), DANGCEM (+10.00%) led sixty-six (66) others on the gainer’s table, while PHARMDEKO (-9.85%), also led eighteen (18) others on the laggard’s table.
